Academic Performance and the Role of Self-directed Learning, Self-esteem, and Grit among Nursing Students

Background: understanding the factors affecting academic performance is important to support and promote success of students. While there have been several studies on nursing students’ performance, role self-directed learning readiness, self-esteem, grit among Filipino students not well documented.Purpose: This study aimed determine relationship perceived students.Methods: correlational research was conducted undergraduate sophomore in a higher education institution Philippines using adopted instruments. Spearman’s rho tested correlation between variables.Results: The results indicated that readiness (rs=.360, p=.000), self-esteem (rs=.301, (rs=.186, p=.023) were significantly related students.Conclusion: psychological resources such as contribute performance. Strategies encourage learning, increase cultivate are needed student's school.
